By Daryl B. Chapman

As parents, we only want the best for our family. We want our kids to live well and to stay active and healthy all the time.

As much as possible we do not want to serve "junks" on our dinner table. We try our best to provide only the healthiest foods. The sad part is, often times our family do not appreciate the food that we serve, although they know the fact that these foods are good for them.

Several dietitians and nutritionists would recommend adding color, flavor and varieties to our foodstuff. Surely, kids will say no to unappetizing and dull looking foods. A clever way to serve nutritious food is to offer delectable and mouthwatering homemade drinks.

It is beneficial to start your day with something healthy like a chilled glass of fresh fruit drink. Unlike the common sodas and soft drinks, fresh home-produced juices do not have additives or artificial flavorings. Serving fruit juices at home can guarantee any parent that their family is getting all the vitamins and phytonutrients that they need for healthy living.

One of the most common fruit juices is orange juice. This natural fruit juice has its own sweeteners which suites the sweet tooth of any individual. It is an ideal way to boost the immune system. Also, orange juice reduces blood pressure, lowers bad cholesterol and maintains the normal heart function.

Aside from orange juice, there are other juices that are found to have immune system boosting capacity. These juices are extracts from cucumber, lemon, wheatgrass, kiwi and pineapple.
