By Tiffany Bowman

It is common knowledge that some people are not quite as healthy and fit as they want to be. People want to make changes but it is not always an easy thing to do. A good start might be changing our dietary habits. The good news is that there are some smoothie recipes that should promote a healthy lifestyle and invigorate you.

One of the most fascinating aspects of smoothies is that they be have anything added with them, even those things like garlic, which some might not like ordinarily. They make a great change from having to consume a whole lot of raw fruit and are much easier to digest too. The body still gets all the goodness of the fruit too.

Natural yogurt is a favorite of many. Not only does it slightly thicken the concoction, it also adds a creamy flavor. Some may not like its tartness, but that can be tempered with a little honey. A banana and mango can be added to this to make what some call a tasty and healthy breakfast.

These are not only for people who want to be healthy, they are for people that already are. However, some people who want to bulk up a little add a little protein powder to help build the muscles. Making a healthy drink is as easy as adding the supplement of your choice to the blender.

Having just the fruit is fine for some but others really get excited about the myriad of things that can be added to it. Things like flax seed oil and milk are quite popular, as are oat cereals, which can give the drink a breakfast feel.

Smoothie recipes that can kick-start a healthy lifestyle and revitalize you, should really include a little fiber and slow-burning carbohydrates. The sugars in them come from the fructose in the fruit, so there is need to add any. They should provide a range of vitamin and minerals and taste good.
