The Whole Family Can Enjoy Popular And Tasty Fruit Smoothies

Strawberries are a delicious and healthful warm weather treat. You don't have to worry about buying too many of them. In addition to wonderful desserts strawberries make popular and tasty fruit smoothies. A smoothie is easy and fun to make. You just need a blender and the ingredients of your choice. Strawberries and frozen orange juice are a great combination.

Milk is a standard ingredient in smoothies and it gives a result similar to a milkshake. However some people like their beverages a little more tart and like to add plain yogurt. Ice cubes might make your drink a little watery so why not add frozen berries instead.

The sweetness of fruit is one of the things people like about it but adding a little tartness can be refreshing too. A little unsweetened cranberry juice or lemon juice can add zest. One enthusiast of blender drinks adds kombucha to her concoctions.

Kombucha is a type of fermented tea that can be purchased in bottles in health food stores. It has many nutritional virtues but its outstanding characteristic is that it is very sour. It will add a kick to any sweet fruity drink.

Everybody can play the smoothie game. Have fun experimenting with different flavor combinations. Bananas combine will with most other fruits and make your drink rich and smooth.

When you are in the produce department or farmers market pick up some exotic species like star fruits, rambutan and kiwano. Try some vegetables as well. They add nutrients and if used judiciously won't detract from the flavor.

Look around for other flavors to add. Try some spices. Ginger or cinnamon add a little zest and offer health benefits as well. When the weather is warm it's time for the most popular and tasty fruit smoothies
