5 Ways You Can Enjoy A Barbecue Better

By Edward French

Since Americans in the South began publicly roasting pigs at parties and get together, Barbecues have been a common item in the lives of North Americans.

For most of the population using a grill is a essential part of cooking and for the hard core barbecuers once the summer comes in it's barbecues all the way.

A good, fun family event are barbecues. Here are 5 ways to make your routine evening barbecue a more unique experience:

Meat is not the only thing you can barbecue. There is quite a lot that can be done with bread or fruit and veg over a naked grill. Barbecues and grilling can be more fun to the whole family if you use pastry cutters to whatever you're grilling. It is up to you or your kids what design and type of food you use.

Try some of those foil packed recipes which cook in less than 20 minutes which are very handy and clean and kids will also love the surprise element. You can have great fun with combos as you mix them up and kids can mix up different items like bread, fruit, etc.

Don't just cook the same steaks and sausages but try something different like venison or cod. Similarly, try to mix it up with condiments and seasoning.

According to barbecue fans, broiling is an insult to the barbecuing criteria and that barbecues shouldn't be rushed because they're supposed to be fun. Slow cooking on low to high heat is what barbecues should represent and it's a good opportunity to laugh with family and friends while you wait for the food to cook.

When we were all small children are moms told us never to play are food, well there is an except to every rule isn't there? Barbecue games are a great way to have really good fun while cooking. In the game glutton, the winner is the first one who finishes the dish which can either be turnips, mashed potatoes, or mac cheese.
