In a medium mixing bowl, coat blueberries with two tablespoons of flour. Toss and gently combine them together with oats, nuts, 1 1/2 cups flour, soda, and salt.
Inside a huge container, cream shortening thoroughly. Carefully pour sugar, stirring after every addition till smooth and even. Add eggs one by one, adding one egg at one time and beat adequately just after every addition. Stir in mashed banana. Pour in blueberry mixture to creamed mixture. Stir with a spatula just till well-blended, moist, and with no big lumps. Put batter into greased loaf pan.
Cook for 50 to 55 minutes. Check out completeness by pricking a wooden toothpick in the center of the bread. It should turn out clean.
