Safe Cooking Tips

One of the things that you will need to make sure of is that you do not store your spices above the stove, as this can reduce their quality upon use. Store all of your spices in a cool temperature to maximize the level of flavor that you taste upon consumption.

Partially freeze meat to make slicing into thin strips easier. This is ideal for Oriental meals like Chinese dishes or Thai dishes. By partially freezing meat ingredients, slicing is cleaner and the fibers do not stretch and tear as easily. However, be sure to allow the meat strips to thaw before cooking them, for even cooking.

When roasting any type of meat, ensure that when you remove it from the oven you give it time to "rest" before you carve it up and deliver to the table. Allowing the meat to sit in its own juices for ten minutes or so will make sure that the meat is not dry or overly chewy.

The most difficult and time consuming thing about cooking is doing all of the prep work. You can buy pre-prepped vegetables or prep your ingredients the day before to cut down on the time you are in the kitchen. This is very helpful if you need to get dinner out in a hurry.

Kneading is a tiring task, but the constantly moving board makes it even more difficult. Have you tried a few unsuccessful tricks to secure the board? Try the simplest of all which always deliver the best results. Place a damp towel under the board you are using to knead the dough. It will keep the board in place.

When seasoning meats, try a little piece before cooking the entire thing. Foods like meatloaf, meatballs, and even hamburgers can require careful seasoning. Do not cook the entire thing right after you season it. Instead, make a little piece into a patty and cook it first. After that, you can either cook the rest or adjust the seasoning accordingly. Preparation is one of the most important things that you will have to do before you cook a meal for your friends or family. Make sure that you have all of the ingredients available. Get everything set to cook the next day - have you got the right utensils and so on? This will help to alleviate your anxiety and maximize your potential.
