Thai Cuisine, Tourism & Culture

This write-up is about the food and culture of Thailand. Thailand's cuisine has risen in popularity over the past few years and has become an ongoing feature at pubs and restaurants. This trend is notable but across Europe and The States too. Thailand is based in Asia (south east) and has gone on to be among Britain's favourite's. Let us explore this in a little more detail.

Thailand is situated next to Vietnam and Cambodia in south-east Asia. However, unlike its neighbors, Thailand is that little bit different and has until recent years remained a secret to the world. Why is that? Because it is the only country in the region that was never colonized by countries in Europe. It's this fact that rouses national in Thai's regarding themselves as 'the land of the free'.

Over the past few years of course, Thailand has become a favourite among many tourists. Some of this interest has related to beach parties an behaviour bordering on legality, those who do respect Thailand's tradition quickly fall in love with the grace of its people and stunning scenery. In 2007 Thailand was marked as the 14th most popular nation by World Tourism Rankings. Up to 15 million people visited and brought in 11 billion Euros.

What about the food of Thailand? Thai food is often revered for its rich and vibrant blend of spices. The typical ingredients of Thai cuisine include fish, garlic and chili's. The seasoning that Thai's use include mint, Thai basil and mint often supplement by pasta or, Thai's favourite, Jasmine Rice. Chok, Seafood Curry and Roast Duck are the most prominent on Thai menus.
