The Right Way To Make Simple Recipes For 2

By Kieran Hill

Cooking for 2 can be a challenge. Most of the recipes out there are primarily based on servings of 4 or more. Is it worth the difficulty to make a lasagna or casserole that may simply be partly eaten? How do you prepare a satisfying meal without ending up with way too much?

Here's a little advice and tricks to assist you in making the most of your food bucks while making delightful, satisfying meals for two.

With some recipes, you can simply halve the ingredient list. Sadly, this doesn't work for every recipe. Even small chickens still feed four, and many crockpot stews and soups don't appear worth the effort of cooking for just two.

The great news is that many of these meals freeze and reheat well, so you're cooking 2 meals rather than only 1. Red meat stew, chili, and soups are the meals that probably taste better the next day, so it can be worthwhile to make the entire recipe and save the left-overs.

You can also use leftovers to create new meals. The leftover roast chicken can be cut up for a salad or a stew the next day. Leftover beef roast can be chopped and utilised for sandwiches. Meats can be sliced up into a stir-fry, or burritos. Even adding different side dishes can make your remains appear fresh and new.

It's possible to halve a recipe for lasagna or a casserole and to use a smaller pan. A loaf pan or maybe even a mini-loaf pan can work fine and you will not end up with a ton of extra food. It could also be tough to make sauces for two. If at all possible, make half a batch, or freeze half for another meal. Bottled sauces permit you to use only what you want and to save the rest for later on.

The best thing about cooking for 2 is that you only have 2 folks to please. You don't have a table full of picky eaters judging your cooking. If you know your partner's tastes, you can prepare delicious meals that are pleasant to the two of you.
