By Sandra Vichy

Every tongue has its own idea of what it thinks are good tastes. Some really enjoy relishing the texture, and flavor of animal flesh. This is all well and good, if you choose to eat this cuisine. What about those who prefer staying with a vegetable, and fruit, diet? Quick, and easy, vegetarian recipes are right around the corner, and are right in your budget.

Some impressions, down through the years, have been talked about when it comes to people who consume an all vegetable menu. Some have said they do not savor of any animal products like cheese, honey, milk, or eggs. If this is how you have believed, then you have been mistaken. So long as no flesh is consumed, then the person is a vegetarian.

A good vegetable stew is a very good place to start. Gather all the foods you would like to incorporate into your pot. Onions, garlic, broccoli, potatoes, carrots, peas, and corn are a few suggestions, and cut them to the size you desire. Select what herbs you prefer, to flavor the stock, like tarragon, salt, pepper, rosemary, and sage and place them in the dish with the food. Cover with water and cook until your desired texture is reached. Scoop out some, and enjoy.

Fajitas are just not for those who live south of the border. Meat does not even need make an appearance. With store bought tortillas, you will have a meal on the table in no time. Water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, onions, bell peppers, and celery make a tasty stir-fry concoction. Slice them, cook in hot olive oil, then place on your tortillas. Voila, what a great meal!

Cheese and eggs make one of the most delectable dishes around. Yes, it can be incorporated into this eating lifestyle. Mozzarella, Parmesan, Swiss, Colby, and cottage cheeses are being made from milk, coming from cows that eat only plants, and grasses. The eggs which come from chickens that are allowed to live a life free of cages, also are considered a plant based food.

Just remember that the choices you make will not utilize much of your day. A vegetarian diet is much easier to maintain than a diet with meat products. It has also been suggested that a diet without meat, makes for a healthier individual. In any case, enjoy your cuisine!
