By Ben Panny

When the holiday season approaches and cool mornings have you reaching for a sweater, then you might be feeling the need to pull out your cooking book, mixing bowls, and measuring cups. The Baking season is upon us, so why not attempt this tasty and uncomplicated recipe for Gingerbread Waffles. Your home will smell divine and your family will thank you. This particular recipe is quicker and less difficult to produce than some other recipes. Moreover, you’ll be trying an exciting variant on breakfast staple.

Gingerbread Waffles Ingredients:

1 cup of real butter, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, 3 cup molasses, 2 cups flour, 1 1 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. finely ground ginger, 1 tsp. finely ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. ground cloves, 1 cup of boiling water

Directions

The first step is to heat and spray your waffle maker according to the directions of the appliance manufacturer. Next, cream the butter and granulated sugar until the mix is light and airy. Then add the 2 eggs and also the molasses, and beat the ingredients together until they're smooth. Inside a separate container sift the dry ingredients together, including the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. You should add the remaining ingredients into the butter combination by alternating the combined dry ingredients with the boiling water.

Spoon the batter into the waffle maker and allow it to spread. Check your waffle guide for an exact time, though each waffle must take about 3 to 4 minutes. The batter will steam at first and when it stops, the waffle should be ready for you to plate. You could expect the batter to create approximately 12 waffles that are 4 inches in size, or if you've got a Belgium waffle maker, the batter will make 3 big fluffy Belgium waffles. You could double the recipe if your household is large. Also, the waffles are mouthwatering when served with maple syrup, apple butter or cinnamon syrup.

You can make homemade cinnamon syrup with a few ingredients that are probably already in your spice cabinet.
