Many Parents Pass Down Recipes That Have Proven To Be Family Favorites

By John Thomas

Mom and Dad are often considered fantastic cooks, bringing out new and exciting recipes periodically. Mom seems to be the queen of the kitchen, making creations that tempt the taste buds. Dad is usually the king of the backyard barbecue. Between the two cooks, the family eats well.

You may someday be leaving your wonderful home, and all that good home cooking. You may be going away to get married, or possibly to go away to school for more education. In either case, you will still need to eat and nothing is better than fresh, home cooked food.

Before you fly from the nest, write down some of your very most favorite instructions for cooked dishes. Putting them in a small photo album might be an easy way to keep track of them. Mom is the greatest cook, but you could follow in her footsteps with enough practice.

A few instructions could be created by mother and not be from a cook book. These are very special, if you have grown up with them and love them. Sure, you may eat a lot from cans and the frozen section of the market, but when time allows, home cooked will be great.

It is always a treat to go back home for a visit. You will probably enjoy a super meal while there. Most mom's are just like that. They have to be sure you are eating and can only do so by cooking it themselves. At least she knows you can survive away from home.

No matter what the reason for you finally leaving home, whether it be for marriage, school or for some other reason, you will be happy to have mom's recipes because you will always need to eat. If you are married, good healthy meals are a must, and if you are in school, remember that fast food isn't always good for you, and surely doesn't taste as good as moms great cooking.
