So you want to clean your coffee maker, huh? You have some vinegar in the cupboard and access to water, so you have pretty much all you need!
Step 1: Equal parts of both of these should fill a pot or another container available. To reduce the solution's strength, minimise the vinegar content. Place a half vinegar, half water solution into a pot.
Step 2: Put that coffee filter back in the machine. Done that? Great, you're ready for the next step.
Step 3: Empty the contents of the water and vinegar solution into the coffee machine. Be careful not to splash the mixture onto any of the electrical components of the machine, which is particularly important with the more modern machines.
Step 4: Let electricity awake the savage weapon that you have come to so dearly love. On switch, things happen. The coffee machine is now alive, but instead of making coffee, it's cleaning the machine.
Step 5: When the coffee making cycle is complete, throw out the filter (make sure you have a new one on standby).
Step 6: Give 20 minutes to the coffee machine such that it will decrease in temperature. 20 minutes for cooling.
Step 7: Under cold water, the rinsing occurs. No detergent, soap or hot water - these are all damaging. This is crucial to the maintenance of your coffee maker. Cold water rinse.
Step 8: Repeat the steps from 2 to 8 and decide whether or not the coffee machine is clean by inspecting its scent and veneer. You don't need to use vinegar again - just water.
