Witch-themed parties are not only for Halloween, but for birthdays and other special occasions, too. For children and adults alike, if you are throwing a party, food is an absolute must! Here are some special recipes that will make your witch-themed parties fun, spooky and unusual!
Ghastly Eyeballs
This recipe will make about eight (8) dozen eyeballs
Ingredients:
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup of pineapple juice
- 1 and half cups of mini-marshmallows
- 7 oz. of creamy cheese (lowfat optional)
- 1 cup of mayo (lowfat/fat free optional)
- 2.5 cups of lemon jello (un-sugared is optional)
Procedure:
Heat the water in a double boiler and dissolve lemon gelatin. Chuck in the marshmallows and stir until it is starting to melt. Take the mix off the heat and add both the cream cheese and pineapple juice. Beat mix till the ingredients have been well mixed and allow to cool for five minutes before stirring in the mayonnaise. Pour the mix into a round ceramic dish or round ice cube trays and allow it to set in the refrigerator. When the blend has set, scoop the eyeballs (with melon baller or ice cream scoop) into waxed paper then put them aside to be painted. For this, employ some liquid food color and apply on the pupils and irises as appropriate.
Evil Witches Fingers
A.k.a Salami and Cream Cheese Wraps
Ingredients:
- Toothpicks
- Cream Cheese
- Salami (Sliced)
- Mini sweet pickles
Step by Step:
Cut the pickles into 4s lengthwise. The length of the pickles must be fairly similar to the salami's length. Apply a thin spread of the cream cheese on the cut salami and then fold it round the cut pickle. Fasten the wrapping with a tooth pick to keep shape. You can also get some Halloween-themed toothpicks to give it that extra spooky kick.
Spooky Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- Bread (cut)
- Sandwich filling (to your liking)
- Halloween-themed cookie cutters (best if made out of metal)
- Condiments
Procedure:
Spread a layer of filling on the sandwiches. Ensure that the quantity of filling will make the sandwiches stick together and not break up when being cut. Once the sandwich is ready, cut the sides of the sandwich using the cookie cutter. You want to use a cutter made out of metal as the plastic ones usually don't cut thru the contents of the sandwich. If necessary, secure the sandwich with the use of a toothpick.
These are only some of the most fun (and spookiest) foods to prepare for witch-inspired parties! Whatever you cook for this exciting event, always remember to have a great time with it! Witch costumes aren't the only way of dressing up. As you can see, you can also dress up your food. Use your creativity to dress up prepared cupcakes and other snacks with toy spiders or prepare some nice blood-colored punch for your guests to drink, too!
