Pancakes are probably one of the quickest and easiest things that you are able to make in the kitchen. Everyone knows the pancake as also one of the most popular breakfast foods there is so it should definitely be in you arsenal of go-to breakfast dishes. One of the best facts about pancakes is you don't need to stick to a strict recipe. Just make sure that you remember the basic ingredients and what the batter should look like when you're done and you are set to make your own homemade pancakes.

Ingredients for your homemade mix:
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 egg
3/4 cup milk

Take the flour and your baking powder and mix them in a bowl. This should end up being approximately 1 teaspoon of baking powder per cup of flour. Add your egg to the mixture. Then add the milk and sugar. To make sure the batter comes out right pour the milk in slowly as the last ingredient until your batter is the consistency you want to cook your pancakes. Make sure to mix the batter well with a whisk or large fork in order to get all the clumps out. Your pancake batter is now ready to cook!

Next it is time to cook up some pancakes! Get a griddle or frying pan, apply a light layer of oil to the pan, and place it over medium-high heat. Now it's time to cook your pancakes. Scoop out approximately cup of batter for each pancake and pour it onto the pan. Cook pancakes until each side is a golden brown color. Once the second side is done your pancakes are ready to serve.

Be sure to enjoy your homemade pancakes with your favorite toppings. Maple syrup is always a great standby. Cover them with blueberry syrup if you want even more flavor. Feel free to tweak this recipe to your own liking. The best part about pancakes is that it's really hard to make them bad, but it's pretty easy to always make them better.
