Gourmet Food And Wine Choices

By Peter Fibunacci

There are many gourmet food and wine choices to make. Leave them for occasions that are special shared with friends and family. There are lots of options that you can call upon but it is important to remember to always look for the best ingredients which are available.

Shellfish and in particular lobster are perfect as they are decadent but light and versatile. You can have a basic dressing made from garlic and herbs or opt instead to experiment with oriental flavors from China or Thailand that gives this kind of food an interesting twist.

If you enjoy eating meat then you have to look for meat that has been fed organically and reared by hand as this is the best quality and is bound to taste better. It also makes it easier to cook and the texture will be better.

This is definitely the case with red meats and game like Venison which are excellent choices to serve during formal occasions as long as you have taken care to pair them with appropriate vegetables. Don't serve too many vegetables on a plate and make sure they are firm and not overcooked.

For those who like their desserts it is best if you ensure something which is home made. You can make your own cake or tart and these can be served on their own with cream. For those who are not impressed by all things sweet provide a selection of cheeses along with biscuits, grapes and crackers.

A vintage wine has rich flavor and texture and when you find a truly special one you will savor the moment. Talk about your choices in this regard with an expert in the field. It works best when you match it to the food that has been made for guests. Champagne is different as it is meant for times of celebration.
