Recipes with ketchup

By George Dodson

Everyone loves good food. Whether it is at home or in our favorite restaurant, a quality dining experience just sets off the day in a special way.

The factor that makes food special is the ingredients and the method of preparation. A certain type of ingredient will enhance the quality of the food when nothing else can.

Recipes comprise of numerous factors. Of many interesting ingredients, ketchup is one of them.

Which of the gourmet recipes include ketchup?

There is a special zest in adding ketchup to some recipes. The special recipe uses ketchup to make it special. Barbecued Catfish Is the name of this special recipe. You mix all the ingredients to include cup of ketchup to make a sauce. All the ingredients are mixed up in cup of ketchup to form the sauce. You marinate the catfish with this mixture and let it stand in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. The fillets are then basted with sauce while continuously cooking them within 12 minutes after which, you will have yourself a fine meal.

Another of my favorite recipes that is enhanced by ketchup is called Crockpot Sloppy Joes. It involves mixing all the ingredients with one cup of ketchup and cooking them on a crock-pot for about 6 hours. When done, it is served on a toasted hamburger bun for a great meal.

What of barbecued spareribs. Your spareribs can receive a good taste by using a cup of ketchup for glazing them. You mix all the ingredients together. You then pour over the ribs and bake for about 1 to 2 hours. If you want them extra flavorful, you can marinate the ribs for 3 to 4 hours before baking them for that special taste.

Here is an interesting recipe. You mix your 1 cup of ketchup with 1 cup of root beer, some lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and some brown sugar. This is brought to boil with occasional stirring. It is then simmered until you have about of the volume. You can season to taste. A good barbecue sauce can be derived from this. This also makes some good barbecue sauce. You can keep the sauce in the fridge until you need it some other time.

To conclude, there is the Barbecued Tex-Mex Wings. You should add about a cup of ketchup to other ingredients to come up with a sauce. Your wings are placed on the grill while you are basting them. You might burn them by basting as there is a high sugar content. After 10 minutes, you might be having some good wings courtesy of ketchup.

This is just an example of some of my favorite recipes with ketchup. My friends pester me on the condiment though all these recipes be very tasty. Luckily I buy in bulk or use ketchup coupons every chance I get.
