Vegetarian Foods Can Make You Healthier

By Kyle Piraino

I am an avid carnivore. I eat all things meat and enjoy every second of it. If possible, I would wrap just about everything I eat in bacon. The cow and the pig are miraculous animals that bring some of the tastiest foods on the planet. With that being said, there are quite a few things that vegetarian foods have over meats that help you live a healthy lifestyle.

When you research the positives and negatives of vegetarianism you can see that there are a lot of things that vegetarian foods helps with. Meats can give you valuable parts of your diet. Complex proteins are abundant in meats and need to be in your everyday diet. But, you can eat certain other foods that help get those essential parts of your diet.

With the amount of saturated fats that are in meat as well as the addition of good fats and antioxidants that come with the vegetables that are eaten instead of meats, vegetarians lead a healthy lifestyle. In grown males, a vegetarian diet can drop the chance of heart disease from 50% to 15%.

Cholesterol is something that most people have to deal with at some point in their lives. With a vegetarian diet, there is much less cholesterol in the diet which helps overall with your health. Meats have a lot of cholesterol and causes a lot of people issues in the long run. Companies like Quorn make food for vegetarians so they do not have to deal with these issues.

Vegetarians live healthier lives than meat eaters. The foods that they eat are much lighter and healthier than those who consume red meat. Disease and health issues are cut drastically from those who eat less meat. But, they are sacrificing one of the most important parts of food; taste. Is it really worth eating veggies for the rest of your life by sacrificing steak?
