Crystal Wine Decanter Makes A Difference

By Gloria Gardner

You have probably heard about decanting, although today people rarely need to remove sediment from their wines. With today's filtration methods, you will find sort of a sediment only if you have wines aged in their bottles for ten or more years. Even so, there is a perfectly good reason for having a beautiful crystal wine decanter in your home.

Another very good reason for decanting is the fact red wines need to breathe before consummation. This technique is used as a very simple way of releasing all the specific aromas and flavors in them. Bringing out those aromas will be actual celebration for your nose, as well as your palate.

Although many people think that it is enough just to open the bottle some time before serving, they are so wrong. The surface of the liquid in the bottle is too small to produce any result. That's why you should use special decanters for this purpose.

Decanters are designed to provide very large surface exposed to the air, so your wines could properly breathe for a while before serving them to your guests. Wines need approximately one hour of breathing, depending on sorts, but after that you should drink them in next few hours, or seal them and store in the fridge.

Considering the fact the whole process is usually performed at the table, it would be nice to have an elegant, presentable decanter for that purpose. Although it can be made of a plain glass, crystal is much better solution. It looks great, and wines will gain some additional value served this way.

crystal wine decanter is a perfect way of presenting wines to your friends and business partners. Besides, it might be a perfect gift to them, as well. Impress them with a nice bottle of wine, accompanied with the perfect beautiful receptacle for serving it properly.
