The Different Ways to Use Alfredo Sauce in Your Cooking

By Gerald Hipps

Few condiments are as unique, flavorful, and versatile as the ever-traditional Alfredo sauce. You will be hard-pressed to host a guest who does not like it, and it will be no issue getting kids to eat one of the delicious dishes it can make. There is almost no meat or vegetable that cannot benefit from having a little of this sauce poured on top. In fact, you probably never realized just how versatile it is.

Parents in a rush or simply anyone who wants an easy and inexpensive meal will love chicken Alfredo. It is suitable no matter how you prefer chicken--grilled skinless cutlets, lightly breaded, or dipped in egg and flour. Simply cook the meat and make or warm the sauce, pouring it over top before serving. It could not be simpler, but chances are everyone in the house will love it.

The simplicity is maintained in everyone's favorite Alfredo dish--pasta with white sauce. Most choose to use fettuccini, but any will really do, and whether the cook goes for white or wheat noodles, it will taste delicious. Steam or boil your favorite vegetable to chop up and stir into the meal, as just about every vegetable will go well with pasta and this traditional sauce.

Meats go great in Alfredo pasta recipes as well. It is one of the most versatile sauces because it can compliment poultry, seafood, and even red meat if you dare! It will taste delicious whether the cook chooses to incorporate shrimp, chicken, or even steak into the meal. Switch up the fettuccini for spaghetti and you will have the perfect dish to top off with a couple of homemade meatballs.

This sauce can be added in with classic recipes to make them rich and creamy. For example, whip up a batch of crock pot macaroni and cheese as you normally would, but add in some of this white sauce to make it even more succulent. It is a great way to keep this traditional dish from becoming boring and to make sure that young kids eat all of their meals...they will love this new dish!

It is possible to make a different meal with Alfredo sauce for every night of the week. It is a great complement to almost any type of meat, whether it is chicken, seafood, or meatballs. In addition, almost any veggies go great in one of these dishes. Add it to macaroni and cheese or even a casserole to make it richer and creamier, or simply put it on top of a chicken cutlet for a quick and easy meal.
