Healthy Foods for a Writer's Body

By Rob Sutter

I've been involved in the art of writing for several years at this point and I know that only the utmost work will come because of what I put into my body. Ideas must come in at a rapid face and I believe the finest ideas are only brought on by the best food. Healthy foods are essential for writing, sure, but which ones in particular are going to ensure that you are working at the highest level imaginable? Here are a couple of products which will only assist you in the grand scheme of things.

People who enjoy indulging on their normal snack foods may feel cheated since healthy foods are now going to be incorporated. However, you shouldn't totally dismiss the aspect of taste since companies such as Quorn have formed lunch and dinner dishes incorporating both taste and nutrition alike. Even snacking out of a bowl of berries could be beneficial for you. Your writers block is not going to be as constant and your body will only be treated to healthier skin and a more robust immune system.

If you want one product to name off that can be considered brain food, there's no better response than fish. While your typical forms of meat don't necessarily contain Omega-3 fatty acids, fish contain these vital components which only work to keep your mind at a robust level. Even for people who don't incorporate fish into their diet, they can still pick up vitamins and supplements which have those very components. When you hear the term "brain food" tossed around, be certain that it isn't a lie.

Is it possible that chocolate is another viable option to go off of for a writer's consumption? Well, it seems like it is, though don't be so quick to reach for your Hershey's and Godiva bars. Most people may not know this but a cup of hot cocoa can potentially contain more antioxidants than in red wine. Keep in mind that this should be a more leisurely indulgence and aspects such as whipped cream and marshmallows aren't exactly recommended. However, the taste is still there and, for a good number of people, that accounts for a lot.

Writing is something that I cannot live without and I like to treat it with the serious diet that it deserves. While I don't think that every single person who loves to be creative has to drastically alter their diet, changes here and there can make great differences. For instance, how much better would you perform if you ate fruit in lieu of candy? Food can be quite heavy, so be certain that your body is being respected by you.
